The frenum is the small fold of tissue that connects the inside of your upper lip with the gum above your front teeth. In some people, that tissue extends farther down toward the teeth than usual. If it reaches between the front teeth, it can put tension on the gum in that area and may be linked with a space called a diastema.<\/p>\r\n
