A chap popped into Envy Smile Dental recently asking if we could sort out several of his top teeth in one go. He had small spaces between his teeth and his edges looked worn and jagged. He was terrified he would have to pay a fortune for porcelain caps.<\/p>\r\n

I said: mate, you can easily bond multiple teeth without touching a drill.<\/p>\r\n

Doing four or six teeth with composite resin is what we call composite veneering. You can close gaps, level out crooked edges, and give yourself a clean smile in a couple of hours.<\/p>\r\n

The secret when doing several teeth at once is getting the chewing pressure right. If I leave one tooth even a tiny bit high, you will clamp down on a sandwich and crack the resin right off. So after I placed the white paste and set it with our blue curing lamp, I had him tap on blue carbon paper about twenty times. I ground down every little high spot until his bite slid smoothly.<\/p>\r\n

He spent around two hours with us listening to podcasts, didn’t have any needles, and went home with his smile completely transformed.<\/p>\r\n
