What We Offer

Children's Dental Services at Envy Smile

  1. Regular examinations: A thorough check of teeth, gums and jaw development at regular intervals (£70 routine / £85 new patient). Early detection prevents problems from becoming serious.
  2. Fissure sealants (£50 per tooth): A thin protective coating applied to the biting surfaces of back teeth — sealing the natural pits and fissures where decay most commonly begins. Quick, comfortable and highly effective.
  3. Fluoride treatments: Professional fluoride varnish applications to strengthen tooth enamel and help prevent decay — particularly beneficial for children at higher risk.
  4. Fillings and restorations: White (composite) fillings for cavities in both baby and adult teeth. We explain everything in child-friendly terms and work at the child's pace to make every appointment positive.

When Should My Child First Visit the Dentist?

As soon as their first tooth appears — ideally around 6–12 months of age

Regular check-ups from this point onward, typically every 6–12 months

Earlier visits help children build confidence with the dental environment

Baby teeth matter — decay in primary teeth can affect permanent tooth development

Early treatment of problems is always simpler, quicker and less costly

Life Benefits

Benefits of Children's Dental Care

Healthy habits for life. Children who visit the dentist regularly from an early age are significantly more likely to maintain good oral health into adulthood — reducing the need for complex treatment later.

Early detection saves teeth. Regular check-ups allow cavities, alignment issues and developmental problems to be identified and treated at the earliest, simplest stage — protecting both baby and adult teeth.

Confident, anxiety-free patients. Children who are introduced to dentistry in a calm, friendly environment from a young age rarely develop dental anxiety — making every future appointment easier and more productive.

Children's Dentistry Harlesden — FAQs

Ideally as soon as their first tooth appears — typically around 6–12 months of age. Early visits help establish a positive association with the dentist and allow us to monitor tooth development from the start.
A routine examination for children is £70 at Envy Smile. A new patient examination is £85. Fissure sealants are £50 per tooth. Call 020 3719 6889 to book.
Fissure sealants are a thin plastic coating applied to the biting surfaces of back teeth — sealing the pits and grooves where food and bacteria can become trapped and cause decay. They are quick, comfortable to apply and highly effective at preventing cavities.
Children should have check-ups every 6–12 months, depending on their cavity risk. Your dentist will advise on the most appropriate recall interval at each appointment.
Yes — baby (primary) teeth play an important role in speech development, eating and maintaining space for permanent teeth. Decay in baby teeth can cause pain, infection and may affect the development of the adult teeth underneath.
Children need help or supervision brushing their teeth until around age 7–8. Use a small, soft toothbrush and age-appropriate fluoride toothpaste. Brush for 2 minutes, twice daily. Our team will demonstrate technique and advise on the right products at your appointment.
Yes. Professional fluoride varnish is safe and highly effective at strengthening tooth enamel and preventing decay in children. The amount used is minimal and the treatment is completed in just a few minutes.
Our team is experienced in supporting nervous young patients. We always introduce equipment gradually, explain what we are doing in age-appropriate terms, and work at the child's pace. Regular visits from a young age significantly reduce dental anxiety.
