Closing a gap with porcelain veneers involves placing a veneer on each of the teeth adjacent to the gap — widening each tooth by the appropriate amount to close the space between them. The veneers are custom-designed in the laboratory so that the resulting tooth widths are proportionate and natural-looking rather than appearing over-wide or artificial.
