A sinus lift is a bone grafting procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw to enable dental implant placement where insufficient bone exists. If you have worn upper dentures for years or lost bone in the upper jaw, a sinus lift may give you a second chance at the comfort and stability of dental implants. At Envy Smile near Brook Green, our dentist will assess your suitability at consultation.
At Envy Smile
Have you worn dentures in your upper jaw for years? Did you know there may be an alternative, more comfortable option? A sinus lift — also known as a sinus augmentation or sinus floor elevation — is a surgical procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw, specifically in the area of the upper back teeth near the maxillary sinuses.
When teeth are lost from the upper jaw, the bone in the area can resorb (shrink) and the sinus cavity can expand downward — leaving insufficient bone to place dental implants. A sinus lift addresses this by lifting the sinus membrane and placing bone graft material in the space created, providing a stable foundation for implants once healing is complete.
Call 020 3719 6889 to EnquireWhen Is a Sinus Lift Needed?
Significant bone loss in the upper jaw following tooth extraction
Upper back teeth missing for an extended period — sinus drops downward
Insufficient bone height to safely place implants in the upper arch
Anatomical variation resulting in a large or low-positioned sinus
As part of a full upper arch implant treatment plan
A second chance at dental implants. For patients who have been told they lack sufficient bone for implants, a sinus lift can create the foundation needed — opening the door to a more permanent, stable and comfortable tooth replacement solution.
More youthful facial appearance. Replacing missing upper back teeth with implants (enabled by a sinus lift) preserves jaw structure and facial volume — preventing the sunken appearance associated with long-term tooth and bone loss.
Sinus lift pricing varies depending on the extent of grafting required, the bone material used and whether the procedure is combined with simultaneous implant placement. We offer 0% finance to help spread the cost of treatment.
Our dentist will assess your bone volume, review your imaging and advise whether a sinus lift is appropriate and what the treatment would involve for your specific situation.
